SANKARASRAMAM
Dear One,
Here is one Charity Project undertaken by Advaithasramam, Kolathur, Kozhikode, under the guidance of Swami Chidanandapuri.
Swami Chidanandapuri is well known scholar of Indian philosophy and Hindu religion. He is a visiting professor of Hindu chair of Calicut University. He has authored a number of books, and is well known for his spiritual discourses. His Ashram conducts regular classes and study camps on subjects like Sanskrit, Vedanta, Gita, Upanishads etc. apart from undertaking various social service activities.
Swamiji had visited Bangalore in February and I got a chance to meet him then. I came to know about this project, and understand that the Ashram is in a tight condition on it's finances. There are 45 kids living in the Sankara Balasadanam and it urgently requires expansion. We know from media exposures, how many poor Hindus are being converted to other religions on a daily basis, just for want of food and shelter. In that sense Swamiji's work is a great service to Hindu society. I specially feel this as very important because as everybody knows, the number of Hindu institutions are drastically coming down in northern Kerala. Because of this, the life is becoming a challenge for those Hindus living in Malabar. So I feel, it is a historic duty of the present day generation to support and strengthen the remaining Dharmik centers of learning in such areas.
I request you to go through the attached brochure and if you feel like doing something, please do so. It would be great if you can send a mail to me, so that I can collate and update you the final outcome of our combined effort. Please feel free to circulate among people who are inclined to support such noble cause.
Irrespective of whether you do something or not towards this project, I definitely would like to hear from you..your thoughts..
Thanks and Regards,
KK
