TN now offers subsidy to Mukthinath and Kailas-Manasarovar pilgrims

Nadu Government has announced allocation of Rs 1.25 crore towards
subsidy for the year 2012- 13 to enable devotees to undertake pilgrimage
to Manasarovar temple in China and Mukthinath temple in Nepal. The
airfare from Chennai to Manasarovar costs Rs. one lakh, the government
would provide subsidy of Rs 40,000
to each of the 250 Hindu pilgrims,
totalling Rs one crore. The subsidy for Mukthinath temple for pilgrims
was Rs 10,000 for 250 pilgrims, totalling Rs 25 crore.
The
subsidy beneficiaries for the pilgrimage would be shortlisted after
publication of an advertisement in newspapers by October 15 and the
Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department would finalise the
list of pilgrims.
